County Hounds Boarding Kennels Terms and Conditions
Vaccination. Your dog can only be accepted for boarding if it is in good health and you are able to provide a valid, in date, vaccination certificate which must include cover for Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis and Parvo Virus. This is usually stated on your vaccination card as DHLP. Entry will be refused if you are unable to provide proof of vaccination. We also reserve the right to refuse any dog which is showing signs of ill health that has not been previously notified.
Kennel Cough. We require your dog to have had the kennel cough vaccine. This is not routinely given with annual vaccinations so please remember to ask your vet to include it.
Parasites. All dogs must be routinely treated for fleas, ticks and worms before coming into kennels. Evidence of this will be required. If infestation is noted within 24 hours of arrival, treatment will be undertaken and a charge levied.
Medical Conditions. If your dog has a pre-existing medical condition that you have notified to us we are very happy to administer his/her medication. Please bring enough medication for the duration of your dog’s stay with us together with clear written instructions as to how it is given together with the amount and frequency of administration. If the medication runs out, you agree for us to purchase further supplies on your behalf and for you to reimburse us for expenses incurred including travel expenses.
Veterinary Treatment. If, in our opinion, it is necessary to call a vet out to your dog, or take your dog to a vet, for a pre-existing medical condition, this will be charged in full including travel expenses. If the nature of the medical issue allows we will attempt to contact the owner before veterinary intervention is sought. If your dog becomes unexpectedly unwell or is injured during their stay, veterinary treatment may be sought and this may be billed to the owner depending on circumstances.
Payment. We will require full payment for the booking on collection of the dog if made by card or cash. Payment by BACS must be made within 24 hours following collection.
Non Collection. We reserve the right to rehome any dog not collected within 14 days of the stated departure date if no communication from the owner or the owner’s agent or representative has been possible.
Risk. Every owner who books their dog into County Hounds Kennels is deemed to have accepted that their dog will be allowed to socialise and be exercised in the company of other dogs. Such socialisation is undertaken under supervision and every effort is made to ensure the safety of every dog resident at the kennels. Nevertheless, such activity carries an element of risk and it is deemed that in making a booking at County Hounds Kennels the owner accepts that risk. Boarding in general is undertaken at the owner’s risk. While we take every care to protect all dogs and persons on our property we do not accept responsibility for damage or loss to persons, property or dogs unless negligence is proven.
Bitches in Season. We are unable to take bitches in season. If your bitch comes into season while she is at the kennels, we do not take any responsibility if mating takes place before we become aware of this. Furthermore, we do not have the facilities to safely accommodate a bitch in season. In the event of this we would find alternative accommodation for the bitch in season and the owner would be fully responsible for all fees and charges.
Fees. If a dog is collected before the booked departure time or date the full charge for the original period will still be required. In the event of cancellation, we reserve the right to make a charge for loss of income.
Opening Hours. Our opening hours for visits and drop off and collection are 8.30 to 10am and 4.30 to 5.30 every day including weekends. We will permit drop off and pick up of dogs outside these hours only by prior arrangement.
